Mode Project is proud to announce that our After School Matters film, “It’s Like Home,” was honored as a Bronze Winner in Promotional Video – General Diversity and Inclusion in the 43rd Annual Telly Awards. Collaborating as storytelling allies for the past 8 years, we have worked to bring After School Matters’ powerful impact stories to life and inspire donors all around the city to fund life-changing programs for Chicago high school teens.
The film, ``It's Like Home” reveals the personal impact After School Matters had on one teen boy’s life during and emerging from the pandemic. The story was featured at the organization’s annual showcase & fundraising gala in 2021.
The film follows an approach Mode Project refers to as “Real People. Real Connection.” an authentic storytelling strategy leveraged to reveal human connection and build emotional impact. “Giving voice to the things that can make the world a better place and advocating for cause-based brands is a mission we thrive on,” said Tracy Heropkie, Executive Producer at woman-owned Mode, “We believe emotional storytelling has the power to connect us all.”
“Now, more than ever, it is necessary to celebrate video work that reflects the top tier of our industry, such as Mode Project,” says Telly Awards Executive Director Sabrina Dridje, “This year’s submissions reflect an industry that has returned to the important work of storytelling, one that has returned with a new perspective that values innovation, agility, equity, and tenacious creativity.”
